Mob attacks cops after youth dies in accident

Three cops were injured today when a mob pelted stones at them protesting the death of a youth in an accident in North Dwarka area of south-west Delhi.
22-year-old Yadram, a resident of Matiyala, was returning from his in-laws' place in Chhawla when his scooter was hit by a water tanker in North Dwarka area.
The water tanker dragged Yadram for some distance before the driver fled away with the vehicle, a police officer said.
He was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead. Following his death, his family members and relatives reached the accident spot and blocked the road.

They also attacked a water tanker that passed from there and pelted stones at the police personnel who reached the spot after receiving a PCR call.
Three cops -- SHO of Dabri police station, a sub- inspector and a constable -- were injured when a mob pelted stones at them, the officer said.
Later, the police resorted to lathicharge to disperse the mob and control the situation. PTI VIT.
