Mobile tower shifted from Kargil to Srinagar to ensure

In a bid to ensure telephone connectivity in the worst hit Indranagar-Badamibagh-Shivpora areas of Srinagar, Armed Forces have shifted a mobile tower from Kargil belt of Ladakh region to the state's summer capital.
A mobile tower of BSNL has been shifted from Kargil to Srinagar to provide mobile communications around Badami Bagh Cantonment (Indranagar-Shivpora), an Army officer said.
It is aimed to connect the worst flood hit area in the city to further speed up the communication with people trapped in the area.
Telephone booths and generator sets with mobile charging facility are also being airlifted to the affected areas, he said.
"Ten PCOs are planned to be set up, 30 generator sets with mobile charging stations are being air lifted from Chandigarh to Srinagar," he said.
