According to the Met department, chief amount of rainfall was recorded at 10 cms in Gaighat, 9 cm in Basti, 8cm each in Muzzafarpur and Bhinga, 7 cm in Varanasi, 6 cm each in Barra, Jaunpur and Dalmau, 5cm each in Chanderdeepghat, Mukhlishpur, Sultanpur, Rajghat and Bareilly, 4cm each in Allahabad, Balrampur, Nawabgang, Gazipur, Gorakhpur, Kakrahi and Sultanpur, 3 cm each in Handia, Phoolpur, Turtipur, Elginbridge, Palliakalan and Shahjahanpur.
The department said rain or thundershowers would occur at few places in east UP tomorrow.
It said that southwest monsoon was active over east UP and normal in western parts of the state.
