"Modi is the first prime minister of the country who has gone abroad and humiliated India by criticising its citizens," AICC media cell incharge Praniti Shinde said while referring to Modi's comments in Shanghai about Indians being ashamed to have been born in India.
"Modi should remember that those people whom he calls to have been born in sinful India had elected him as PM...They are the same people who made a chaiwala the PM," she said referring to Modi's statement in Seoul.
Praniti, daughter of former Union home minister Sushilkumar Shinde, said progress of nation happens due to its people and not because of one individual as Modi thinks to be the case.
She also questioned Modi's decision to give credit line of USD one billion to Mongolia "at a time when farmers in India are in need of financial help from government."
Disputing Modi's claim that Chinese firms will be investing in India, Shinde said, "Modi has been telling lies that China would invest in India. China will never invest in India. They look at India only as a market."
She termed various schemes launched by the BJP-led government in last one year as the "repackaged version of UPA schemes".
Responding to a query, Praniti said the Congress lost in Maharashtra Assembly elections due to "lies which were properly marketed by the BJP.
