BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi today urged youth in the 18-28 age group to decisively vote for a strong government at the Centre to change not only India's fortune but also their own.
"Forget about politics. Just think of yourself. Like the Plus 2 examination is critical in a student's life, the 18-28 age period is very significant. It's a golden period. If an inept government that is controlled by a remote control comes to power in Delhi, your life will be ruined. So think of your own future and elect a strong government that does not work with a remote control or oxygen pumped by the mother-son duo," he told the youth.
Addressing a rally of the NDA at LB Stadium here, the Gujarat Chief Minister noted that development is the only elixir for all ills plaguing the country.
"The country will get ruined without development," he said, adding that a wave which began in favour of BJP a few months ago has now developed into a tsunami and is set to wash away Congress completely.
"We have to dream of developing a digital India if we have to progress. Digital India and mobile governance. Technology can aid us in building such an India," Modi observed.
Mocking at the Congress election manifesto and its promise to provide 10 crore jobs, Modi said the party was merely trying to hoodwink the youth.
"They made the same promise in 2009, but in the last 10 years, the UPA government provided only 1.25 crore jobs, whereas the Vajpayee-led NDA government provided 6.5 crore jobs in the six years it was in power. Has anyone of you or your family or neighbours got a job from Delhi? Is it not cheating," he said.
Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu, Telugu film star Pawan Kalyan and other leaders of the two parties also attended the event.
