Bhagat announced the news on twitter saying he is happy that the 'Aashiqui 2' and 'Ek Villain' director has attached himself with the project.
"Delighted to announce super talented Mohit Suri will direct the film based on my next book 'Half Girlfriend'," Bhagat posted.
'Half Girlfriend' is a story about Madhav, a Bihari boy with big dreams who falls in love with the beautiful Riya, a rich lass from Delhi.
The book, which is Bhagat's seventh work, will hit stands on October 1.
