The companies can now submit the RFPs by August 25.
Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar made this announcement in the State Legislative Assembly here.
"Foundation stone for the proposed airport would be laid in September this year. Five bidders who will be submitting the RFP have been shortlisted," Parsekar said.
He was replying to a joint question tabled by Leader of Opposition Pratapsingh Rane and Congress MLA Vishwajit Rane.
The five shortlisted bidders are M/s Airports Authority of India, M/s GMR Airports Limited, M/s GVK Airport Developers Limited, M/s Essel Infra Projects Limited (Consortium) and M/s Voluptas Developers Private Limited (Consortium).
