More than 41,OOO new police recruits in UP

More than 41,OOO applicants were today announced selected for the second phase of police recruitment drive in Uttar Pradesh, a senior official said.
"Process is underway for recruitment of 41,610 constables, which include police, PAC constable and firemen," chairman of UP Police Recruitment and Promotion Board Arun Kumar Gupta told reporters here.
He said that more than 21 lakh applicants appeared in the preliminary examination of which 4,30,879 were selected for physical test.
On being asked that by what time the recruitment process would be completed, Gupta said it was expected to get over by January next year.
