The incident happened at Basudeopur Chakdah village under the jurisdiction of Sonki Sahayak police station yesterday night, officials said.
The wall of their mud hut collapsed due to intermittent rains in the district. The woman and her son were sleeping when the incident happened, Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO)Gajendra Prasad Singh said.
The deceased were identified as Durga Devi (55) and Harikant Yadav (20), the SDO said.
The bodies were sent to Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital, Darbhanga for post-mortem, he said.
