Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's idea of training state government employees on the principles of Swami Vivekananda has been objected by authorities here saying existing teaching modules cover his suggestions.
An announcement in this regard was made by Chouhan last year following which the Chief Minister's Office had in May last year sent an order for setting up of "Swami Vivekananda Peeth" to RCVP Naronha Academy of Administration and Management here.
However, despite series of discussions on the matter, the "Peeth" (which may refer to a division or wing to be headed by a specialist to devise ways to teach Swami Vivekananda ideology of transparency and integrity in governance) has not been established yet.
A meeting in this regard was held on Tuesday at the academy in which it was felt that there is "no necessity" of establishing the "Peeth", said a notesheet of the academy, accessed by social activist Ajay Dubey in response to an RTI query filed by him.
The academy is running various programmes, including those envisaged behind the establishment of the "Peeth", the documents say.
The outcome of the meeting, which was held at the academy's director room, has been sent to General Administration Department (GAD) of the state government, the notesheet said.
The state government officials, however, clarified that no final decision has been taken in the matter.
The academy had sought about Rs 26.50 lakh for this purpose from the state administration. However, the amount has not been released so far, as per the official documents which were also received in response to the RTI application.
The academy is the premier training institute of the state government to train IAS, IPS and IFS officials, in addition to state government Class I officials, on various matters related to good governance, transparency and integrity among others.
