MP govt gives nod to new housing policy for scribes

Madhya Pradesh government today cleared a new housing policy for journalists which earmarks 230 houses for them on rent.
The decision was taken at a state Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, an official release said.
Under the policy, journalists having their own houses will also be entitled for government accommodation but at double rent, it said.
The journalist house allotment committee will be headed by Public Relations Minister Rajendra Shukla.
The power of allotment of houses will solely rest with the committee, the release said.
The houses of E-Type and below will be rented out to scribes on a three years renewal lease deeds.
