MP-headed district panels to ensure power supply

Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today ordered setting up of district-level committees, to be headed by MPs, to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the people of the state.
Das said every district electricity committee would be headed by the MP of the district and if there is a second MP from the same district, he or she would hold the post of joint chairman, an official release said here.
Besides, MLAs, panchayat heads, District Board chairperson of the districts would be members of the committee, he said.
The deputy commissioner of the district would be the convener of the committee.
The committee would meet once in every three months and give its suggestions to the energy department, the release said.
