The voting passed off peacefully by and large barring some stray incidents, a top official said.
According to reports reaching here nearly 61.26 per cent voting has been recorded in nine places, State Election Commissioner R Parasuram told reporters.
He said the voting percentage may go up marginally when the final data is compiled including latest inputs.
Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur and Chhindwara registered 56.70, 62.35, 62.12 and 82.70 per cent voting, respectively, when the last report came.
