A Madhya Pradesh police team will soon visit New Delhi to record the statement of IPS officer, Pramod Verma's wife Nidhi, who in a complaint to the State Director General of Police (DGP) Nandan Dube had charged her husband with having an extra-marital relation with a woman police officer.
Nidhi, in her complaint to the state police Chief had alleged that her husband was having a extra-marital affair with a woman police officer which began from Khargone where he was posted as SP.
According to the complaint, in the name of "working on a serious mission," Verma spent hours with the woman at the office situated in the official residence.
Soon after the complaint last week, the 2001 batch IPS officer, Verma was transferred from SSP Gwalior to Bhopal and attached with Police Head Quarter (PHQ) as Assistant Inspector General (AIG).
The Inspector General of Police (IG), Crime Against Women Cell of Madhya Pradesh Police, Sushma Singh said as Verma's wife was not willing to come to Bhopal for registering her complaint against her husband, so "now we will send a team to Delhi to record her statement".
Sushma said they were completing formalities to send a police team out of state and once she gets permission their officers will go to Delhi soon.
Nidhi, in her complaint, had allegedly mentioned that her husband also "mistreated and isolated" her.
The DGP after receiving the complaint against IPS officer forwarded it to the crimes against women cell and asked them to conduct an inquiry into the matter.
