MP to provide free treatment of serious diseases diagnosed

Madhya Pradesh government has started holding free health camps across the state, under which people diagnosed with serious diseases would be treated at leading hospitals in the country free of cost, an official said.
"The health check up camps are being organised in every district across the state from January 15 to February 27. Patients diagnosed with serious illnesses would be provided treatment at renowned hospitals of the country, like AIIMS (Delhi), Medanta, Apollo and others," a public relations officer said today.
"Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has made an appeal to help the people suffering from serious diseases to avail benefits of the free medical treatment camps," he added.
He said patients diagnosed with 20 serious diseases would be offered treatment with the government's financial assistance.
"Complete treatment will be provided for the diseases included under the State Diseases Help Scheme, like cancer surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, renal surgery, renal transplantation, etc," he added.
Other diseases/treatments included in the list are: hip joint replacement, knee replacement, head injury (where operation is needed), spinal surgery, retinal detachment, complications after delivery, heart surgery, breast disease surgery, brain surgery, neuro surgery, pacemaker vascular surgery and congenital malformation, he informed.
He said that the specialists will examine the patient in these camps and the necessary amount for the treatment will be approved by the state government on the spot.
Yesterday, such camps were organised at Sehore, Sagar, Jabalpur, Rewa, Khandwa, Morena and Neemuch. The officer informed that the camps in Rajgarh, Balaghat, Satna, Jhabua, Bhind and Ujjain would be organised on January 21.
Camps would be organised in Hoshangabad, Panna, Narsighpur, Shahdol, Dhar, Gwalior and Shajapur would be organised on January 27, while in Bhopal, Chhatarpur, Chhindwara, Umaria, Indore, Guna and Mandsaur they will be held on February 1.
In Raisen, Tikamgarh, Anuppur, Alirajpur, Datia and Ratlam districts, the camps are scheduled to be held on February 7, while they will take place in Betul, Dindori, Burhanpur and Ashoknagar on February 13. In Vidisha, Damoh, Seoni, Sidhi, Khargone, Shivpuri and Aagar people can go to the health camps on February 20, while in Harda, Katni, Singrauli, Badwani, Sheopur and Dewas they will be held on February 27.
