The micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) Minister also expressed hope that the job portal initiative, the first of its kind in the sphere of MSMEs, would assist skilled unemployed persons in getting gainful employment in different industrial sectors. It would also help NIESBUD in further improving its training activities.
On the budget announcements, Mishra said: "The MSME sector has been given a lot of importance in the budget. We have seen that a fund has been created of Rs 10,000 crore. It has also been said that MSMEs will be redefined. Moreover, a committee has been constituted to ease the procedures for MSMEs so that entrepreneurs do not face problems".
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley yesterday unveiled a slew of measures to revitalise the micro, small and medium enterprises sector, laying special thrust on promotion of start-ups.
Presenting the Budget 2014-15 proposals in Parliament, he said a Rs 10,000 crore venture capital fund will be set up for the sector.
Jaitley also announced that the definition of MSME will be reviewed to provide for a higher capital ceiling.
