Aiming to address unemployment and improve employability potential of skilled persons in the country, Union Minister Kalraj Mishra today launched a job portal developed by National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD) here.

"Problem of unemployment has become very serious, this portal will help address the issue of unemployment. NIESBUD is committed to address this issue on a war footing," Mishra told reporters on the sidelines of the launch here.

The Portal -- www.Niesbudnaukri.Com -- has been designed in-house by NIESBUD and would provide a common platform to both the trained persons and the prospective employers.

Armed with the facility of free-of-cost online registration for employment in more than 150 job categories, the prospective registered employers would be able to source their requirements of skilled manpower out of the persons registered on the Portal.

The micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) Minister also expressed hope that the job portal initiative, the first of its kind in the sphere of MSMEs, would assist skilled unemployed persons in getting gainful employment in different industrial sectors. It would also help NIESBUD in further improving its training activities.

On the budget announcements, Mishra said: "The MSME sector has been given a lot of importance in the budget. We have seen that a fund has been created of Rs 10,000 crore. It has also been said that MSMEs will be redefined. Moreover, a committee has been constituted to ease the procedures for MSMEs so that entrepreneurs do not face problems".

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley yesterday unveiled a slew of measures to revitalise the micro, small and medium enterprises sector, laying special thrust on promotion of start-ups.

Presenting the Budget 2014-15 proposals in Parliament, he said a Rs 10,000 crore venture capital fund will be set up for the sector.

Jaitley also announced that the definition of MSME will be reviewed to provide for a higher capital ceiling.
