MULTA militant arrested from Dhubri

A Muslim United Liberation Tigers of Assam (MULTA) militant was arrested by a joint team of the Army and the Assam Police from Dhubri district.
"In a joint operation with the Police, the Army apprehended one MULTA terrorist on July 25," a Defence spokesperson said in an official release.
Based on specific intelligence, the Army had launched an operation and apprehended the militant, identified as Shah Alam, he said.
"He was actively involved in extortion, kidnapping, smuggling of arms, ammunition and fake Indian currency," the spokesperson said.
A revolver and some live ammunition were recovered from the terrorist, he added.
