Former Chief Minister Arjun Munda today alleged that Jharkhand failed to meet the 12th Planning Commission's motto of achieving faster, sustainable and inclusive growth.
"The concept of the 12th Planning Commission was faster, sustainable and inclusive growth, but Jharkhand failed to reflect them," Munda said in his speech on the last day of the Assembly's Budget session.
Stating that people's participation was important under the Planning Commission's concept, Munda said, "Good governance is very important for the state, but there is no advance planning to speed up development works. As a result, the state is going through uncertainties."
Picking up holes in various programmes of the state government, Munda, the Leader of the Opposition, claimed not a single step was taken for assuring inclusive growth.
He cited some examples like non-distribution of braille books to the blind, not completing a project for the temple town Deogarh and increasing costs of different projects to prove his point that work had been stagnated.
Munda demanded that the government should clarify under what circumstances Chief Minister Hemant Soren had dismissed Chandra Shekhar Dubey from his cabinet on February 19.
"It was said that he (Dubey) was dismissed for speaking against corruption. The government should clarify either way... Was he dismissed for speaking against corruption or had he (Dubey) faced any corruption charges (himself)," asked Munda, terming Dubey's dismissal from the cabinet as a serious issue.
Former Assembly Speaker and BJP MLA C P Singh urged Speaker Shashank Sekhar Bhokta to intervene and ensure Dubey's presence in the House.
