The North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council elections will be held on January 19 next year, a notification issued by the Assam State Election Commission said Saturday.
As per the notification, voting in the North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council in Dima Hasao district of Assam will be take place on January 19 across 280 polling stations between 7 am to 3 pm.
The counting of votes will be held January 22, it said.
The nominations papers can be filed from December 24 to January 3, while scrutiny will be held on January 4. The last date for withdrawal of candidature is January 7.
With the announcement of election schedule, the model code of conduct in connection with election to the council will come into force with immediate effect in Dima Hasao district, the notification added.
