As the present MAFSU VC Dr AK Misra is completing his tenure, Kumar will take charge as the officiating VC from September 7.
Confirming the development, the divisional commissioner told PTI that he had received a phone call from the secretary of Maharashtra Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao, who is the chancellor of universities.
"I am happy to take over as the substitute VC of MAFSU and will carry forward the good work done by Dr Aditya Misra," the senior bureaucrat said.
