"The people of Bihar voted JD(U), RJD and Congress alliance to power in the name of 'sushasan'. Hence it is the duty of the Chief Minister to take concrete steps to check the deteriorating law and order situation in recent days," NCP General Secretary Tariq Anwar said.
"Some incidents of crime have taken place which has increased anxiety of the people and would deter prospective investors from coming to the state. We hope the Chief Minister will take concrete steps to improve the situation," the NCP MP from Katihar said.
However, he did not agree with BJP's allegation of "Jungle Raj-2" under the present dispensation and did not see anything wrong in 'interference' of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad in the affairs of the state.
"In an alliance government, it is the responsibility of all the partners to run the government. If Lalu Prasad raises some issue it is his right. RJD is the largest party in the ruling coalition. So how come Prasad can sit as a mute spectator," the NCP leader added.
Anwar attributed the dismal performance of his party to polarisation of votes between BJP and 'secular' alliance in the wake of controversial statement of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on reservation.
