"Special Investigation Team comprising SDM, SP and District Welfare Officer, Hoshiarpur will conduct an inquiry into Rs 10,000 taken as capitation fee from students by a local college for releasing their roll numbers and indifferent attitude of some of the members of the college management and college staff towards Scheduled Caste students," NCSC Vice Chairman Raj Kumar Verka told reporters.
The SIT would submit its report within 15-days to the Deputy Commissioner. In case any member of the college staff and management of the college was found guilty, a criminal case would be registered, he said.
Panjab University officials would conduct an inquiry into these allegations, Verka added.
The Chairman of the concerned college, however, refuted the allegations and said that no capitation fee was charged from any student.
