In a written reply to a question, Minister of State for HRD Upendra Kushwaha today informed the Lok Sabha that in 2016-17, a meeting of Group of Secretaries on Health and Education was held in which one of the recommendations was the conduct of an all-India entrance exam for teachers.
"Accordingly, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) which has been mandated for the regulation and development of teacher education sector in the country, is in the process of finalising the methodology for conduct of such as all-India entrance exam for B Ed programmes," Kushwaha said in his reply.
