Andhra Pradesh BJP SC Morcha president Dara Sambaiah today said the NDA government has "followed" the principles of B R Ambedkar by introducing social and financial welfare programmes for uplifting of the downtrodden.
Sambaiah said, "The NDA (government) initiated Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), Atal Pension Yojana (APY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Yojana (PMJJY) and MUDRA Bank only for the benefit of economically and socially weaker sections."
He was speaking on the sidelines of SC Morcha State Executive Committee meeting here.
The former MLA further said, "AP state unit of SC Morcha has been organising various programmes to spread the messages and teachings of Dr B R Ambedkar among the downtrodden on the eve of his 125th birth anniversary from April 14, 2015 to April 14, 2016."
He said the SC Morcha motivates poor people to avail the benefits of the Centre's schemes.
On the reservation issue, Sambaiah said, "Despite Prime Minister Narendra Modi's affirmation that his government is committed to follow the constitutional obligations which were initiated by Dr B R Ambedkar for the downtrodden, some political parties are intentionally spreading misconceptions to demoralise the government.
