In the letter, Standing Committee Chairman of NDMC Pravesh Wahi said that due to the ongoing financial crunch, the corporation is not in a position to pay salaries to its staff well in time.
Wahi requested Jung to "direct the Urban Development Department of Delhi government to release the outstanding fund to the civic body as per the recommendations of the Fourth Delhi Finance Commission", the NDMC said in a statement today.
The official said that in addition to salaries, arrears, pension, medical reimbursement etc are to be paid to the serving as well as the retired staff.
Wahi said the release of the due funds would ensure smooth functioning of the corporation and speedy development work.
