Union Rural Development Minister Choudhary Birender Singh today said he will put forth the idea of developing 1000 'smart villages' on the pattern of government's smart city plan.
"I would make a request and discuss the matter with Prime Minister Narendra Modi," he said while delivering the seventh Sir Chottu Ram Memorial Lecture organised at DAV Senitory College of NIT, Faridabad.
