New Himachal PCC adjusts many Cong leaders who lost assembly

Congress President Sonia Gandhi today reconstituted a 31-member PCC for Himachal Pradesh to assist state party chief Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu appointed earlier.
The new team, which includes many who had lost the last assembly elections, comprises seven vice presidents and nine general secretaries besides a treasurer and a 14-member Executive Committee.
"The Congress President Sonia Gandhi has accepted the proposal for reconstituting the Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee," AICC general secretary Janardan Dwivedi said. He said the appointment of Sukhu as PCC chief has already been announced earlier.
Some former ministers and MLAs who lost the last assembly elections in the state have been adjusted in the reconstituted committee.
Among those dropped from the previous committee are some ministers in the Virbhadra Singh government in the state, who have now have been made permanent invitees to the HPCC.
The new HPCC vice presidents are former Kangra MP Chander Kumar, former minister Harsh Mahajan, former Speaker Ganguram Musafir, Kailash Parashar, A N Vidyarthi, Nikhil Rajaur, who lost the last assembly election, and Geeta Negi.
Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, Union Commerce Minister Anand Sharma, ministers Vidya Stokes, Kaul Singh Thakur, Dhani Ram Shandil, G S Bali, Mukesh Agnihotri, Sujan Singh Pathania and Thakur Singh Bhrmouri, besides Mahila Congress chief Anita Verma have been made permanent invitees to the committee.
