New VC takes over charge of BAU

Renowned biotechnologist Dr George John took over as the new Vice Chancellor of Ranchi-based Birsa Agriculture University (BAU) today.
John, retired adviser to the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, took charge today, a BAU release said here.
John also served the Indian Council of Agricultural Research and Department of Biotechnology for about 35 years in various capacities.
In his address to senior officers of the BAU, he said developing entrepreneurship among students, strengthening infrastructure and linkage with national and international agencies would be among his priorities for larger goal of development of the region.
