Congress president Rahul Gandhi today met newly-elected MLA from Punjab Hardev Singh Laddi and congratulated him for his victory in the Shahkot bypoll.

During his meeting, Laddi was accompanied by Congress's in-charge for Punjab affairs Asha Kumari.

"Newly-elected Shahkot MLA Hardev Singh Laddi's first meeting with Congress President Rahul Gandhi Ji post winning the by-polls was warm and replete with discussions on the implementation of Punjab CM Amarinder Singh Ji's vision for the area," Kumari said in a tweet after the meeting.

Laddi had defeated his nearest rival Naib Singh Kohar of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) by a margin of 38,801 votes.
