Traders said the rise in nickel prices was mostly supported by rising demand at spot markets from alloy-makers but the metal's weakness at the London Metal Exchange (LME) limited the gains.
Meanwhile, nickel for delivery in three months slid 0.4 per cent to USD 15,712 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
In the national capital, nickel (4x4) rose by Rs 2 to Rs 1,088-1,094 per kg.
Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg):
Lead ingot 106, Lead imported 107, Aluminium ingots 168, Aluminium sheet cutting 169, Aluminium wire scrap 171 and Aluminium utensils scrap 168.
