The military said yesterday that they killed 50 terrorists following a tip off.
Local Punch newspaper quoted a security source as saying that intelligence report was received over the weekend that members of Islamic fundamentalist group, Boko Haram have regrouped.
"We mobilised and went to their meeting point and on sighting us, they started shooting. We first killed ten suspects and left their corpes," security source said adding that they killed another 40 persons who came to bury their dead.
The government of the oil-rich African country declared a state of emergency recently in three states of Yoba, Adamawa and Borno where they have many followers.
The military claims the terrorists are on the run since the declaration.
