Conservator of Forest south circle (Wildlife), Rambir Singh confirmed that Sultanpur National Park and Bird Sanctuary has been closed following avian flu scare in Hisar.
"We have put a signage board at the entrance gate of Sultanpur National Park to inform the visitors and bird lovers about the situation why we have shut it down. Although there is no mortality of birds reported in this park" Singh said.
We took precautionary steps to close the Sultanpur National Pak for visitors following threat of avain flu deaths of birds in Rohtak and Hisar, he said.
The Sultanpur-Farukhnagar-Jhajjar corridor is known as natural habitat as migratory birds comes from Siberia, Eastern Europe, Mangolia in winter season.
The Sultanpur National Park spread is spread over 352 acres with 175 acres falling under water body.
