Nine held for bid to exchange Rs 65.5 lakh in old notes

Nine persons were nabbed today from Begum Bazar area here for allegedly trying to exchange Rs 65.5 lakh in demonetised currency with valid bank notes for a commission, a police officer said.
A police team seized the old currency notes in denominations of Rs 1000 and Rs 500 from them, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Task Force) B Limba Reddy.
Since March 13, Hyderabad Police has arrested as many as 61 people in separate cases and has so far seized invalid notes having a face value of over Rs 15.26 crore.
