NINL logs best monthly production record

Odisha-based Neelachal Ispat Nigam Limited (NINL) posted the best ever monthly production in July 2018 at its Kalinga Nagar plant by churning out 83,690 ton hot metal.

The plant also produced 76,687 ton pig iron last month which is the best monthly production of the company since its inception, a company release said.

The company achieved this feat surpassing the recent record production of 74,960 ton hot metal and 69,780 ton pig iIron in June this year.

The company also registered the highest sinter production of 1,32,990 ton during the month surpassing its previous best of 1,23,300 ton in April, 2013.

Vice-Chairman & MD of NINL S S Mohanty congratulated the plant collective for the achievement, a press release issued by the NINL said.

After successful completion of a major overhauling of its blast furnace, the NINL recorded a shift in its daily, weekly and monthly production records in the last three months, the release said.

The NINL is now all set to begin billet production within a month and convert it to TMT bars and wire rods through conversion basis this year, the release said.
