Nitish to welcome PM, to attend programmes too if invited

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today said he would welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the airport on July 25, and would attend his programmes if invited by the ministries concerned.
"I have no idea if my name is there in the foundation stone or not. Whatever be the case, I will go to welcome the Prime Minister during his visit here," Kumar told reporters.
He was replying to a question if he would be going to welcome the PM as the chief minister's name was missing in the foundation stone.
"I will be at the airport to receive him and if Union ministries concerned invite me to the programme I will attend it," said Kumar.

During his visit to Bihar on July 25, Modi is scheduled to inaugurate a new campus of IIT at Bihta, and also the Daniawa-Biharsharif line.
Besides, the Prime Minister will flag off the Patna-Mumbai train and address a function of ICAR, inaugurate the Jagdishpur-Haldia gas pipeline and address an NDA rally at Muzaffarpur.

Kumar said he has seen invitation of Petroleum ministry's gas pipeline function. "I have no qualm in attending any programme during the visit."
The visit is expected to galvanise the BJP-led NDA for the coming Bihar elections later this year.
While BJP was trying to capitalise on PM's visit, the Chief Minister and his partner RJD have been attacking Narendra Modi.

Kumar had yesterday said there was not much to hope from Prime Minister Narendra Modi's announcement of new projects during his visit to the state.
In reply to an another question that he was not provided Z Plus category security like the one given to his predecessor Jitan Ram Manjhi, Kumar said "BJP does not follow healthy tradition. It works for its own benefit with a commercial mindset."
"BJP is expert in misuse of power but it does not have any adverse impact on me," Kumar said.
