The National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) today demanded release of 10 per cent DA due from January last for state government employees and pensioners in cash.
"We demand release of 10 per cent DA due from January last in favour of state government employees and pensioners in cash. DA is the part of salary and routine financial matter and as such there should be no hitch in releasing it", NMC President Subash Shastri said while addressing the workers here today.
He said that the salaried class and pensioners were facing lot of economic hardships due to high inflation and price hike and release of due DA instalment will be a genuine measure to provide some financial relief to them.
Shastri said that the delay in release of DA would not only put financial burden on the state government exchequer to liquidate the arrears but also increase the difficulties of employees and pensioners.
The prices of all essential commodities are going up considerably and there was no justification on the part of the government for withholding this instalment for its employees and pensioners as the funds had already been earmarked in the current year state budget, he added.
Stressing on the need for early creations of separate heads in all concerned departments and budgetary allocation made separately so that till their regularisations, the daily rated workers are able to get their monthly wages regularly and in time.
He said that these daily rated workers facing serious financial hardships as their services have not been regularised for the last two decades nor they are getting their wages regularly.
