No Bill should be passed in din Parliament: BJP in BAC meeting

BJP today told Congress during a Business Advisory Committee meeting of the Lok Sabha that no Bill should be passed in the din in Parliament even as it charged that business in the current session is being stalled by ruling party members.
At the meeting, government sought the opposition's support to get crucial legislations passed in the coming week. But BJP made it clear that it is ready to cooperate provided its members are given some time to raise important issues listed by them.
Leader of the Opposition Sushma Swaraj said BJP is not disrupting the proceedings but its members, who had given notices for suspension of the Question Hour to raise issues, should be allowed by the Chair to do so.

Today, the Speaker refused to allow BJP members to raise issues like violence in Kishtwar, Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley not being allowed to go to riot-hit region and the land scam allegedly involving UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra.
The opposition also charged whenever BJP wants to raise an issue, Congress ministers send their anti-Telangana members into the Well of the House.
The government has listed the Nuclear Safety Regulatory Authority Bill, Readjustment of Representation of SC/ST in Parliamentary and Assembly Constituencies Bill, 2013, Indian Medical Council Ordinance, RTI Amendment Bill, Civil Aviation Authority Bill, and Rajiv Gandhi National Aviation University Bill for discussion and passage in the coming week.

The Rajya Sabha BAC has decided to take up the Food Security Bill, Land Acquisition Bill next week. The Upper House could also witness a discussion on the state of the economy at a time when the Rupee slide continues and there is a slump in manufacturing sector.
