A circular issued by Under Secretary to Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms M Kannan said it had been seen that government staff used to meet their senior officers at their homes during the festival occasion as a matter of courtesy.
It said no government staff should meet the officers at their residences with gifts during celebration of Diwali and that any deviation of the instructions, would attract disciplinary action
All Heads of Departments were asked to bring this to the notice of their subordinates.
