Uttar Pradesh Tourism Minister Rita Bahaguna Joshi Saturday said that there is "no scope" for any debate on Ram temple at Ayodhya after the Prime Minister's statement on it.
"There is no scope left for any debate on the issue (of Ram temple at Ayodhya) after the prime minister's statement on it. This is a country of 120 crore people and everyone has right to express his/her opinion on any issue. But what PM says is the government's line... And sub-judice matter should not be discussed in open," she told reporters here.
Modi had said on Tuesday that his government will not bring an ordinance on the issue of Ram Mandir while the matter is being heard in the Supreme Court.
When asked that party leader Subramanian Swamy has demanded that the government should give the acquired land to the VHP for construction of temple, Joshi said "the entire issue of (title of) the land is pending in the Supreme Court which is analysing it... Let the court do its job which has fixed Janaury 10 as the next date (in the matter)."
Asked about the security arrangements, the minister asserted that "a very good arrangement has been made this year."
