No scope for malpractice in recruitment: KVIB vice chairman

Vice Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) Peerzada Mansoor Hussain today defended the recent selection of 20 candidates and accused the National Conference for undermining the credibility of the institution.
The NC had yesterday alleged nepotism in recruitment to various government posts and demanded a judicial probe into the matter.
"This is for the first time in the history of KVIB that the recruitment process was made transparent and outsourced to a Delhi-based agency, Hussain said.
On February 25, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti ordered a high-level inquiry into the procedural inadequacies in the selection process of the board, the results of which were declared last week.

NC spokesperson Junaid Mattu had alleged, "For the last few days, certain issues have come to the fore which has direct connection with the chief minister and her immediate family. Whether her cousins, uncle or her close aides, who are office bearers in her party, their children have been given government jobs and the recruitment process of various autonomous boards has been diluted". Countering the allegations, Hussain said, "is it a sin that one of the selected candidates, out of 20, is the son of a politician (Sartaj Madni)".
