North East Sunfeast Cup tournament to kick off from Sep 22

The first edition of the North East Sunfeast Cup Football tournament will begin from September 22 in six places across the region.
"More than 250 teams and 3,000 players from different parts of the North East will participate in the six chapters of the tournament to be held in Guwahati, Jorhat, Aizwal, Itanagar, Shillong and Imphal," SPT Sports, the organisers, said in a statement.
The tournament, to be held under the aegis of respective state football associations along with event sponsor Sunfeast - Foods Division of ITC, will continue for a period of around two months and the teams will be divided into two categories -- U-13 and U-16.

The competition will commence on September 22, 2015 at Nehru Stadium, Guwahati.
The last date for registration for Guwahati chapter has been extended by two days till September 17, SPT Sports said.
"A slew of digital and on ground initiatives have been planned to make the football experience all the more memorable," it added.
