Black pepper slips in lacklustre trade

Prices of black pepper slipped in an otherwise lacklustre Spices market here today due to subdued demand from stockists and retailers amid ample arrivals from producing belts.
Meanwhile, ginger and all other copra varieties ruled stable in the absence of any necessary buying support.
Black pepper declined to Rs.668/735 from yesterdays closing level of Rs.670/740.
Following are today's closing rates (in Rs) with previous rates in brackets:
Black pepper (per kg) 668/735 (670/740), ginger bleached (per kg) 240 (240), ginger unbleached (per kg) 260 (260),copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 8,100 (8,100), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 8,000 (8,000), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 16,700 (16,700), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 9,500 (9,500).
