Divisional Forest Officer, Najibabad, had issued a notice to the Barhapur MLA yesterday asking him not to enter the forest with arms or shooting at any wild animal, otherwise it would take legal action against him, Chief Forest Warden of Bareilly, M P Singh, said today.
A man-eater tigress had strayed into Barhapur area killing several people and animals in the past few weeks and created panic among the people.
The Forest department has appointed five shooters for searching the man-eater tigress in as many sectors of Barhapur and Sahuwallah ranges. The tigress has so far eluded all efforts by the forest officials to trace her out.
