The complaint was filed with the Cyber Cell, Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Delhi Police on Thursday, that Varun Sharma was defaming the girl by posting filthy and false comments on social networking sites after she registered a complaint against him.
"As per the complaint, Sharma at times uses the names of the victim's relatives to post derogatory things to embarrass the family. He also uses different accounts to do so while sitting in the US," a police official said.
He said he had approached the website concerned to clear the objectionable material and they had started the procedure to do so.
Police said a case has been registered under sections of the Information Technology Act and further investigations are underway.
