The man from Dunedin is now officially known as 'Full Metal Havok More Sexy N Intelligent Than Spock And All The Superheroes Combined With Frostnova'.
The 99-character name is just one shy of New Zealand's 100 character limit and Frostnova found out only when his passport expired.
Frostnova's fellow friends chose his name after he lost a poker game five years ago, 'New Zealand Herald' reported.
"My friend lost a bet five years ago and changed his name," the friend wrote on an on-line body building forum.
Frostnova will now need to update his driver's license and other ID cards.
DIA spokesman Michael Mead said the name was legally registered, for a USD 110 fee, in March 2010.
