These posters were found on walls near a small market close to Dabwali bus stand in Sirsa district, a police official said.
"These are the same posters which were found pasted on walls at various places in Punjab a couple of weeks back. Various things like freedom referendum... Were written on these posters. This seems to be the handiwork of some anti- social elements," the acting SHO of Dabwali city police station, Ram Niwas, said over phone.
"Unfortunately, there was no CCTV camera installed in the market. However, we are investigating the matter and looking for any clue as to who could have played mischief," the police officer said.
Dabwali town in Sirsa borders Punjab. The police officer said the posters have been removed.
"We have kept these in our possession and further investigations are under progress," he said.
When contacted, the Superintendent of Police, Sirsa, Satender Kumar, also confirmed that these posters were found in Dabwali and added that the matter was under investigation.
