Officials to visit flood, drought affected areas in UP

Uttar Pradesh Irrigation Minister Shivpal Singh Yadav today directed officials to visit flood and drought hit areas and stay overnight to redress grievances of the people.
"The officers should visit flood and drought hit areas and stay there for the night to hear grievances of people and redress them," Yadav said, at a meeting to review flood and drought situation in the state.
He said that report against officers, who are not discharging their duties sincerely should be given to the government and strict action would be initiated against them.
Yadav said that the Centre had been apprised about flood and drought situation in the state and it had assured all possible help.
