According to Cyberabad police, the accused identified as G Sravan, a resident of Madhapur, was arrested today for allegedly sending obscene SMSs to the woman, following a complaint filed by the victim earlier this year.
As per the woman's complaint filed with the Cyber Crime PS of Cyberabad Commissionerate, somebody was harassing her by sending vulgar messages on her mobile phone from a number not known to her, Additional DCP (Crime) G Janaki Sharmila said.
During interrogation, Sravan reportedly confessed that he had obtained the complainant's mobile number from her resume from his previous workplace, where he worked as an IT-Recruiter in a consultancy firm located in Somajiguda area.
"The accused was arrested and sent to judicial remand," a release from Cyberabad Police said.
