Omar said there was a wave only once in the country and that was after the death of Indira Gandhi, which resulted in a massive victory for Congress and Rajiv Gandhi was elected as prime minister.
"Why he (Modi) needs to contest from two Lok Sabha constituencies if there is a wave in their favour," Omar told a gathering of Congress and NC workers here today.
Modi is contesting from two seats -- Vadodara in Gujarat and Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh.
NDA had claimed a wave in 2004 also and gave the slogan of 'India shining' but got a bashing in the elections, the chief minister said.
"Again in 2009, it claimed that NDA will come to power as UPA-I is a failure, but failed miserably in the elections," he said.
Now again, the results will prove their claims wrong, Omar said, claiming that there was a "crises" in the BJP over seat sharing.
Omar also said that there was no difference between NC and Congress coalition in the state and the dispensation will win all the six seats in the state.
