"The expedition has been launched to enhance synergy among various security forces including Army, BSF, State Police Force and Coast Guard," Colonel Goswami said.
"The Expedition team consists of 13 personnel including officers and of other ranks who will interact with locals and make them aware about the forces and the need to preserve the fragile ecology of Gujarat," he said.
The team will visit Ahmedabad, Patan, Dholavira, Lakhpat, Jakhau, Okha, Porbandar, Junagadh and Girnar, covering 1,520 km in ten days.
"While to commemorate golden jubilee celebration of Konark Air Defence Brigade, a six days long land yachting expedition is being conducted in the Rann of Kutch," the defence PRO said.
It was today flagged off by Commander of Konark Air Defence Brigadier Subhash Yadav from Kuarbet in Kutch. It will explore areas such as Dharmsala, Shaktibet while sailing all the way to Karimsahi in Kutch, he said.
